Townsend Schools provides opportunities for high school students to participate in 17 Montana High School Association (MHSA) sponsored extra-curricular and co-curricular activities as well as 9 middle school sponsored sports.
To participate students and parents/guardians must meet requirements set by Townsend Schools and the MHSA. This includes sports physical exams, rules meetings, fees and required practices and academic standards.
Below are the important dates and information to help you get involved in these activities.
If you have any questions, you can contact Jim Holland, Activities Director, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 441-3445 (summer number) and leave a message.
SPORTS PHYSICAL EXAMS
Townsend Schools and MHSA requires that students have an annual physical exam to participate in extra-curricular sports. The exam can be done anytime after May 1 of the current year and is valid through the following school year. Physical exams can be performed by any medical professional who provides them as part of their regular practice.
If your student has traveled to Florida, especially Miami-Dade County, this summer it is highly recommended that they see a medical professional as soon as possible due to the Zika virus outbreak.
