Curriculum Disclosures & Parental Information (Policy 2335)

In accordance with § 20-7-120, MCA, and School Board Policy 2335, Townsend Public Schools provides annual notice to parents and guardians regarding courses and activities that may include human sexuality instruction. We are committed to complete transparency regarding all of our curricular materials.

Please review the following information regarding our curriculum:

• Curriculum Consistency: Our curriculum, teaching practices, and values have not changed. Our Health Enhancement curriculum continues to be abstinence-based.
  

• Identity Instruction: Identity education is not a part of the Townsend Schools curriculum.
  

• Parental Rights (Opt-Out): As a parent or guardian, you have the right to refuse to allow your child to attend, or to withdraw your child from, a course of instruction, class period, or assembly regarding human sexuality instruction. If you choose to opt your student out of these specific lessons, you may return the Human Sexuality Instruction Opt-Out form to your student's building principal.
