The University of Montana recently launched a new scholarship program on Raise.me that can help students earn "micro-scholarships" (performance-based scholarships) from Montana and over 180 other colleges for each of their academic and extracurricular programs.  Please visit the Raise.me website!

Prudential Spirit of Community Awards    
DEADLINE: November 8, 2016
This scholarship honors students for volunteer service in their communities. Students may visit http://spirit.prudential.com or www.nassp.org/spirit, and click on "Apply Now" for the application and more information.
 
Soroptimist Violet Richardson Award
DEADLINE:
The Soroptimist organization is an international volunteer club for business and professional women who work to improve the lives of women and girls in local communities and throughout the world. The Soroptimist International Heritage Club of Helena is seeking applicants for the Violet Richardson Award honoring girls 14 - 17 who volunteer their time to benefit their communities. MSU Bozeman Presidential Scholarship    
DEADLINE: December 2, 2016
Must be planning to attend MSU in fall of 2017, have a cumulative GPA of 3.75 and a minimum 30 ACT score or a 2000 on the SAT.  Please visit www.montana.edu/honors for more information and an application.
 
U of M Davidson Honor College and General Freshman Scholarships   
DEADLINE: December 4, 2016
The application for admission is the application for general freshman scholarships at U of M. 
Students applying for the U of M Davidson Honors College Presidential Scholarship must have a 3.93 GPA and must have scored a 32 on the ACT or a 2120 on the new SAT.  Students may apply for the Presidential Scholarship online at admissions.umt.edu.
 
Montana Jaycee Foundation Annual Scholarship   
DEADLINE: January 14, 2017
Recipients of these scholarships should list involvement in activities and organizations, leadership roles, honors and awards, employment,and scholastic achievement.  Application must also include a personal and a financial statement and include references.  Two one thousand dollar scholarships will be awarded.  Download an application at www.mtcisenate.org.
 
Elks Most Valuable Student Scholarship
DEADLINE: 
The Elks National Foundation awards $2.216 million in college scholarships to a total of 500 high school seniors nationwide through its Most Valuable Student scholarship contest.  Applicants are judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need.  Applications are available in the counselor's office and can be downloaded from www.elks.org/enf/scholars.  
 
2017 Youth Tour to Washington D.C.
DEADLINE:  
Vigilante Electric Cooperative is sponsoring a student whose parent/guardian is a member of Vigilante Electric Cooperative to go to Washington D.C. this summer as part of the 2015 Youth Tour.  The student must write an essay.  Students must be sophomores or juniors in the fall of 2017.  Please see counselor for application. 
 
 MUS Honor Scholarship  
DEADLINE:  March 15, 2017
This is a 4 year renewable scholarship that waives the tuition and registration fee at the chosen eligible college - any public university,technical school or community college in our state.  To be eligible students must have a 3.4 GPA or above and take the ACT or the SAT by December 1.  Students must register at www.mus.edu/sholarships, have the student's counselor verify that the applicant is on track to meet the Rigorous Core Requirement, and mail the signed application, along with a copy of the college acceptance letter, proof of the ACT or SAT, and the high school transcript along with the college acceptance letter postmarked by March 15th.
 
Vigilante Electric Leadership Award and MECA Memorial Scholarship
DEADLINE:  January 13, 2017
The Vigilante Electric Cooperative Leadership Award/Montana Electric Cooperatives' Association Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a deserving student who must be a dependent of a member of Vigilante Electric Cooperative.  Top applications will receive the Leadership Award, and the best application will be forwarded on to MECA to compete for an additional $500 scholarship.  Applications will be judged on the student's academic strength, school and community activities, employment, community service and a personal statement.

Business Leaders of Tomorrow Scholarship
DEADLINE:  January 29, 2017
The Business Leaders of Tomorrow Scholarship will be awarded to a senior with a 3.0 GPA or better, be 17 years or older, and write a 600 to 1000 word essay about what they want to accomplish during their career in a business or finance related field.  Application and information can be found on themortgagereports.com/scholarships.

Nursing.org is now accepting applications through August 1, 2016 for nursing scholarships including the Nurses First Scholarship, The RN to BSN Scholarship, and Scholarship for Men in Nursing.

Carroll College Bill and Grace Berberet Family Schlarship
DEADLINE: April 10, 2017
The Bill and Grace Berberet Family Endowed Scholarship is available to incoming Carroll College students.  The applicant must be a Broadwater High School graduate, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and be able to demonstrate financial need.   Preference will be given to a member of the Holy Cross Parish in Townsend.  Please contact Mrs. Audet for more information.

Carroll College Montana Advantage Scholarship
DEADLINE: December 1, 2016
New first year students who are from Montana (will graduate from a Montana high school), have applied for admission and filed a FAFSA by December 1, 2016 (using Carroll's school code 002526) will be offered a $2000 Montana Advantage Grant.  Apply to Carroll College today at www.carroll.edu/admission.
 
Helena Soroptomist Heritage Club Memorial Scholarship
DEADLINE: March 31, 2017
This $1,500 scholarship is offered every year to a student from the Helena area with a substantial financial need.  The recipient must demonstrate a sincere desire to further his/her education, and meet the eligibility requirements to attend an accredited post-secondary institution of higher education.  The following criteria will be used to judge each application: 30% financial need, 20% community service, 20% heritage essay, 10% academic performance and 20% letters of recommendation. Please see Mrs. Audet for application.
 
Montana Food Distributors Association Scholarship
DEADLINE: March 20, 2017 
Applicants must be grocery industry employees or children of grocery  industry firm owners or employees.  Applications must include a transcript, letters of reference, a list of accomplishments, and a background summary. The MFDA awards four scholarships annually: one for $1,000 and three for $500.  Please see Mrs. Audet for application.

The Miranda Decision Scholarship

Montana State Women's Golf Association Scholarship

The Montana State Women's Golf Association's scholarships are awarded annually to graduating senior girls that meet the requirements as listed on application.  The application form can be downloaded from the website at http://www.mswga.org/.

Montana Clerk and Recorder's Scholarship

Montana Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association Scholarship

Two $750 scholarships will be awarded to a graduating senior who is seeking a career in local law enforcement.  Recipients will be selected on the basis of need and academic ability as well as career goals.  Please see Mrs. Audet for application.
 
Lewis and Clark Retired Educators Association Scholarship
DEADLINE: April 1, 2017
A scholarship in the amount of $500. will be available to a student entering a Montana school that is part of the Montana University System majoring in elementary or secondary education.  Applicants must include a transcript, two letters of recommendation, and a personal essay about what institution the student plans to attend as well as why the student wants to major in education.  Please see Mrs. Audet for an application.
 
 
Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation/Horatio Alger Scholarship
DEADLINE: April 15, 2017
The Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation and the Horatio Alger Association announce the Horatio Alger Montana Scholarship Program. This scholarship is valued at $7,000 over four years of school. Applicants must be pursuing a bachelor's degree at one of the University of Montana or Montana State University system schools.  This scholarship is based on financial need, an essay, and GPA. The Horatio Alger Montana Scholarship application can be completed on-line at: application.horatioalger.org.  
 
Youth Serve Montana Scholarship

The Governor's Office of Community Service offers the Youth Serve MontanaScholarship for Montana High School Seniors who've performed 100 hoursof volunteer service for their community.  An application form and guidelines can be found at the website: www.serve.mt.gov
 
ABWA Scholarship
DEADLINE:  
The Big Sky Chapter of the American Business Women's Association offers a $1,000 scholarship to applicants who carry a 3.0 GPA or better, plan to attend a Montana accredited college or university, or a licensed technical or community college for the 2016-2017 school year. Applicants must be pursuing a business or professional career.  Please see Mrs. Audet for an application.
 
 Montana Governor's MERIT Scholarships
DEADLINE: March 15, 2017
The Governor's Merit Scholarship will be given to to a student who demonstrates academic excellence, by having either a 3.0 GPA, or scoring at least a 20 on the ACT or 1440 on the SAT.  Apply for the Governor's Merit Scholarship at www.scholarship.mt.gov by March 15th.
 
Montana Association of Conservation Districts Scholarship
DEADLINE:  
Applicants must have a 3. GPA or better, be a Montana resident, and plan on enrolling in a course of study that allows students to explore natural resource issues.  Appropriate courses of study include agriculture, agribusiness, animal science, range science, forestry, environmental science, land resource science, plant science, etc.  Please go to http://macdnet.org/macd-scholarship.

Peter Nelson Scholarship

High school seniors planning to attend UM-Helena College of Technology may apply for one of these scholarships.  The scholarship will be used to assist with the cost of attendance for one of the following programs: Agri-Diesel, Aviation, Electronics, Metals, Welding, Automotive, Carpentry(Construction Technology), Machine Tool, Truck-Diesel, or Fire and Rescue Technology.  Go to the Helena College website to apply under the Financial Aid tab or see Mrs. Audet for an application.
  
American Legion Scholarship
DEADLINE:  
The American Legion is offering this $500 scholarship to a graduating senior of Broadwater High School.  Seniors applying for this scholarship must be planning on attending a four year or two year school after high school.  This scholarship is based on community service, leadership and other notable achievements.  Please see Mrs. Audet for a copy of this scholarship application.
 
American Legion Auxiliary Scholarships
DEADLINE: 
Two scholarships of $500 each will be awarded each year.  Candidates for this award shall be sons, daughters, grandsons or granddaughters of Veterans who served during eligibility dates for membership in the American Legion.  Applicants must have been residents of Montana for at least two years prior to graduation.  Please see Mrs. Audet for an application.

Lewis and Clark County Farm Bureau Scholarship
DEADLINE: April 15, 2017
The Lewis and Clark County Farm Bureau will present three $1000 scholarships to students from Lewis and Clark County area schools.  The recipient of these scholarships will be judged on scholastic achievement, goals regarding college courses, activities and the student's future, leadership, and community and school activities. The scholarship winner should be a current paid Lewis and Clark County Farm Bureau member or an immediate member of a current paid Lewis and Clark County Farm Bureau family.  Please see Mrs. Audet for an application.
 
Montana PTA Scholarship

One award of $500 will be made to a high school senior who will be attending a Montana college or university to become an educator.  Submission information and application forms are available on the Montana PTA website at www.montanaapta.org.  Click on the "SCHOLARSHIP" tab.

Aloha Nursing Scholarship

The applicant must be the daughter, granddaughter, great granddaughter, son, grandson or great grandson of a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Montana.  The applicant must be pursuing a degree and career in nursing.  Please see Mrs. Audet for an application. 
 
Bernard Greufe Honor Scholarship

The$500 Bernard Greufe Honor Scholarship is administered by the Montana Farm Bureau Foundation.  The purpose of this scholarship is to assist Montana Farm Bureau members and their children as they pursue a higher education.  This scholarship is not limited to students pursuing a degree or career in agriculture.  Please see Mrs. Audet for an application.
 
Mosolo Memorial Scholarship

The Masolo family is offering a scholarship to a 2016 graduate of Broadwater High School.  Seniors applying for this scholarship must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and must have financial need.  Applicants must write a one page essay about "why I will be attending college next year."  Please see Mrs. Audet for an application.
 
AHEC Healthcare Professions Scholarship

Odd Fellow-Rebekah Scholarship

Keanu Amsk Memorial Scholarship

Lewis and Clark Republican Women Scholarship

Black Mountain Software Scholarship

The Nordmeier/Tafoya Scholarship

WesternArea Power Administration in partnership with the Bureau of Reclamationand Risk Management Agency, is seeking applicants for theNodmeier/Tafoya Scholarship.  This scholarship was established in honorof two Western employees, Bob Nordmeier and Monday Tafoya, who diedalong with four other employees in a plane crash on December 18, 1992. This scholarship is awarded to one or more individuals who have apermanent disability.  Financial need will also be considered.  Pleasesee Mrs. Audet for an application.

Mike Bullock Scholarship

Townsend Rotary Club Scholarships

The Frank Holloway, Hall of Fame and the Mel Pottruf Scholarships are given to honor graduating seniors of Broadwater High School who best exemplify, by his/her conduct and service in the community, the highest ideals of Rotary for "He profits most who serves best."  The recipient must be a good citizen in both school and community.  Please see Mrs. Audet for a scholarship application.

reACT Tobacco-Free College Scholarship
DEADLINE: 
reACT is Montana's teen led movement against Big Tobacco.  The goal of this scholarship is to help move tobacco-free policies from the high school setting onto the college level. Recipients will be required to submit a midyear letter to demonstrate what they have done to help advance toacco.  Go to MTREACT@MT.GOV for on line application.
 
Flynn Ranch Memorial Scholarship

The Board of Directors of the William Warren Flynn Memorial/Flynn Ranch Scholarship Association will award three scholarships this year to deserving seniors.  Applicants must submit a narrative describing the applicant's background, interests, accomplishments, and future plans along with a transcript to Mrs. Audet. Montana Community Foundation Scholarships

Townsend Rodeo Club Scholarship

The Townsend Rodeo Club offers this $750 scholarship to a BHS graduating senior who will be attending a trade, technical, or college/university in Montana.  This is an agriculture based scholarship, therefore the applicant must meet at least one of the following criteria: has been involved in 4-H, taken agriculture related courses in high school such as any vocational education classes, has been employed in an agriculture related field, and/or comes from an agricultural background (raised on a farm/ranch, competed in rodeo, etc.).  Please see Mrs. Audet for an application.
 
Laurie McCarthy Scholarhships

Through out her life, Laurie McCarthy gave to the Townsend community in a variety of ways.  As a very private person, she neither wanted nor expected attention for those gifts.  The scholarships offered are dedicated to Laurie McCarthy's genuine spirit of providing service in a quiet manner.  Applications must include descriptions of involvement in community service activities and projects throughout high school and a description of your personal goals.  The written application is the first phase of this scholarship process.  The Laurie McCarthy Scholarship Committee will review all written applications and select candidates for an interview.  Please see Mrs. Audet for an application. For additional information about Laurie McCarthy click here.

Broadwater County Cattlewomen Scholarship

Townsend Education Association Scholarship

The Townsend Education Association offers this scholarship yearly to a Broadwater High School graduate who plans to major and pursue a career in education.  Applicants are asked to list high school extra-curricular activities, community service performed and what specific area in education the student plans to pursue (pre-school, elementary, middle school, secondary, post-secondary, special education, etc.)  The Townsend Education Association will interview applicants as well. Please see Mrs. Audet for an application.

The AIGC All Native American High School Academic Team Scholarships

2017 Broadwater County Farm Bureau Scholarship

The Broadwater County Farm Bureau is offering a scholarship to a graduating senior from Broadwater County.  The winners will be selected on the following criteria: scholastic achievement, leadership, school and community activities, and financial need.  Preference will be given to seniors whose family is a Farm Bureau member, whose family's primary income is agriculture, and whose family is actively involved in the local Farm Bureau.  Applications may be picked up from the high school counselor or from the Broadwater County Farm Bureau President.
 
The Gary Murphy Memorial Scholarship

Thisscholarship was started in memory of Gary Murphy, a farrier from Butte,Montana.  Gary's family offers this scholarship to a young personinterested in attending farrier school.  Students may see Mrs. Audet foran application.

T. Eugene Young Montana's Promise Scholarship

‚ÄčThis scholarship is designed to provide an incentive for Montana high school seniors who are majoring in STEM related programs with preference given to computer sciences, engineering and bio-health sciences.  Go to the online application system, SmarterSelect, at www.mtcf.org/applications to apply.
 

The Montana Woman Foundation Scholarship

The Cotter Charitable Foundation Scholarships

The Tom and Neva Cotter Charitable Foundation Scholarships are offered to Broadwater High School students who will be attending a two or four-year institution of higher education.  The scholarships are based on academic performance, school and community activities and the financial need of the students who plan to continue their educational careers. Please see Mrs. Audet for an application.
 
Universal Athletic Service Scholarships

Alert Magazine Scholarship

Alertmagazine is offering a $500. scholarship to a graduating senior whowrites the best 600 to 1000 word essay concerning drug and alcohol abuseand its prevention.  There is not a set deadline, as essays arepublished twice yearly and all essays are considered on a yearly basis. Students must have a grade point average of 2.5 and must be planning onattending college after graduation.  Please see counselor for moreinformation or go to alertmagazine.org.

Montana Coroners' Association Scholarship

TheMontana Coroners' Association announces the availability of a $500scholarship to be awarded for the fall semester of the year 2014 to agraduating High School senior majoring in a Criminal Justice or HealthScience field.  Recipients will be selected on the basis of need andacademic ability as well as career goals.  Please see Mrs. Audet for anapplication.

Montana Contractors' Association Concrete Division Scholarship

This $500 scholarship will be awarded by the MCA Concrete Division Committee.  The scholarships will be awarded to applicants entering vocational educational training or to applicants entering a 4-year college or university.  Please see Mrs. Audet for an application.

Nursing.org is now accepting applications through August 1, 2016 for nursing scholarships including the Nurses First Scholarship, The RN to BSN Scholarship, and Scholarship for Men in Nursing.
 
Loyal Order of the Moose and the Women of the Moose Scholarship
DEADLINE:  
The Council of Higher Degrees of the Loyal Order of Moose and the Women of the Moose are making available a scholarship in the amount of $1000. The recipient of this scholarship must be planning on attending a Montana college or university.  Students who apply need not have any affiliation to a Moose member, but it is important the student shows financial need.  Please see Mrs. Audet for an application.
 
Great Clips Cosmetology School Scholarships

Montanaarea salon owners and Great Clips, Inc. are sponsoring $500scholarships for individuals interested in pursuing a career incosmetology or barbering after graduation from high school.  Applicantswill write an essay describing why cosmetology interests them andinclude a letter of recommendation.  Please see Mrs. Audet for theapplication.
