November, Broadwater High School will be administering the Armed
Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) student testing program.
Most high schools in Montana utilize the ASVAB at the eleventh grade
level for career exploration and military interest; however, seniors
interested in the military are given the opportunity to test as well.
The ASVAB Career Exploration Program includes expanded ways to link
ASVAB scores to the world-of-work, the addition of a science and
technology composite to reflect the central role of technology in
the workplace, and the inclusion of aspects of the Occupational
Information Network (O*NET) to suggest occupations that are in line with
a student's interests, values and competencies. All students tested
will receive the student workbook, Exploring Careers: The ASVAB Career
Exploration Guide. This includes an Interest Finder, an Occu-Find and
related career exploration web sites. The user friendly, military web
site for more information on the ASVAB is www.careersinthemilitary.com.
