Hello My Name Is...
I am excited for students and staff to return to school for the 2016-2017 school year!
The school Year will be filled with many opportunities for students, parents and the community to be involved in Townsend Schools. I look forward to making a positive difference in the lives of Townsend youth. There is much to be proud of in our Townsend Community.
The district will be focusing on technology to enhance student learning including English Language Arts (reading, listening, speaking and writing) and mathematics as well as increasing student engagement.
Please contact me if you have questions, suggestions, or need additional information. I look forward to working with all of you for an outstanding 2016-2017 school year
at Townsend School District #1.

SHORT BIOGRAPHY of Erik Wilkerson
I was born and raised in Hamilton, Montana. After my sophomore year in high school we relocated to Helena where I graduated from Capital High School in 1984. I attended college at the University of Montana for two and a half years, transferred to Western Montana College and graduated in 1990 with an Elementary Education Endorsement.
After college, I taught sixth grade for two years and fourth grade for three years. While teaching I worked on my Master's degree at the University of Montana. I was hired in Philipsburg, MT in 1996 as the K-6 principal. I've held administrative positions since then in Red Lodge, Deer Lodge, and the Shields Valley Since that time.
I'm absolutely thrilled to be in Townsend. The school and community have been fantastic and I look forward to the start of school.
